Windsor & District RMA are visiting Charterhouse which is a former Carthusian monastery in London,, not far from Smithfield Market.

The building is formally known as Sutton’s Hospital in Charterhouse, and is a registered charity (number 207773).

Since the dissolution of the monasteries in the 16th century the house has served as private mansion, a boys’ school and an almshouse, which it remains to this day, there may even be a familiar face there!.  The visit is being organised by Gavin and the final details will be confirmed at the next branch meeting on the 13th August, please get your names to the Branch Secretary prior to the meeting.
